Techniques University Sample

I had my first installment of my Techniques University (big thanks goes out to Alexandria from SCS, she did all the work putting the techniques together) and it was a success!
My University will run for a year.  We will meet once a month on the 4th Friday of each month.  You will learn 4 techniques, make 4 projects to go along with those techniques and while we are at it, create a techniques book with a sample of those projects.  For more information on cost and projects go to my classes page here on my blog.

One of the projects we did was the Faux Alligator that you see in the post below this.  And one of the other projects we did was embossed bleaching.  This picture shows the card we made and behind it is the techniques page you make for that particular project.  If you live in the area, I encourage you to join us next month.  By the end of the year you'll have 44 new ideas (48 if you were here last night).  Happy creating!

I do have to say I took inspiration from a few sources here and combined them.  I really love the way it came out.  Sage said I need to do one in pink.....maybe I just will!

Tropical Sunrise..

Its super humid here today, so I thought I would post this picture to bring my imagination to a beach with a cool breeze blowing off the ocean..........sigh.

We made this card at my last downline meeting.  Thanks to Ginger!  You might have a hard time mailing it but it would make a great invitation to a summer party.  The Designer Series Paper is from the summer mini catalog and its called Island Oasis.  Ginger said the umbrellas on the paper inspired her.

The glass is made from vellum.  We used a disposal plastic cup as a sort of template to get the right shape.  We than scored the long sides at about 1/2" and folded them under.  We just sponged on the varing colors on the backside of the vellum.  Used some 2-way glue to add the Dazzling Diamonds and viola!  You have a refreshing drink. :0)  The little orange is from the Tart and Tangy set.

The next card I totally CASED from another demo and I'm sorry to say I can't remember who...if you are the one I cased it from, please leave a comment to take the credit.  And thank you for the inspiration!!!

We made this a couple months ago at my workshops using the Word Window punch.

The stamp set is called Sweet Scoops and it also from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Makes me what to go to DQ!  This set did not carry over to the new Idea Book and Catalog, so if you love it, it will only be around until August 31, 2010.  So if you'd like me to order it for you either email me or go to my website at http://www.robynscherzer.stampinup.net/

Thanks and have a great day!!!

Catching Up Time

Good Evening Everyone,
This next post is going to be all over the board!  I was going through my memory card and came across some pictures I wanted to share.  So bear with me...........

This first one is when I had the honor of having dinner with Shelli Gardner and her daughter Sara, right in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  WOW.  First off, I want to thank my sweet downline, Micky Seerveld for making it all possible.  How so you ask?  Is Micky best friends with Shelli?  Well not quite.........

A few months back, Micky earned herself one of 24 workshops of a lifetime.  She did this through her sales with Stampin' Up! and recruiting.  What's a workshop of a lifetime?  Well, Shelli Gardner, Co-founder of Stampin' Up! came to Micky's house and did a Stampin' Up! workshop.  Now if you know anything about Stampin' Up!, you know that for sure is a workshop of a lifetime!  And in the same day, I had the honor of Shelli and her daughter Sara attending my downline meeting. WOWZA!  After the meeting Micky and her family and myself and my family, got to have a wonderful dinner with Shelli and Sara.  Below is the picture taken outside of the restuarant of my cute little family and Shelli.  Besides Shelli and me, that is my darling husband, Edwin and our adorable daughter, Sage.

Yes, I think my eyes might be closed, but that would be nothing new, I never seem to have them open for pictures!  I have to tell you, after sitting down and talking with Shelli and Sara, I'm more committed to Stampin' Up! than I ever was before.  They are the most amazing women.  They made us all feel like we were old friends just catching up.  They were open and honest about Stampin' Up! and what their likes and dislikes were.  If I hadn't already been a demonstrator, I would have signed up on the spot!-(You can too, by the way, just go to my website at http://www.robynschezer.stampinup.net/, and go to the join now button, you'll need the code Wisconsin.  I promise, you won't regret it!)

Before we went to have dinner that night, I was trying to explain to Sage who Shelli was.  And she asked me, "Oh, is she going to make you President of Stampin' Up!?"  Ha!  Not sure I'd want that job, but if I could get all the free product my heart desired...........

My next picture is of Sage, and one of her cards.......she was helping me in my stamp room tonight and wanted me to show her doing her "stampin' up! business".  One of my sweet customers (thanks Dawn!) made Sage a black apron to match mine, so when I was having a workshop at the house or class at the house, Sage could teach along.  She has taught quite a few of my customers how to sandwich the Big Shot plates!

No her face isn't dirty, she was at a birthday party today and they did some face painting. Gotta love it!

Alright, lastly for tonight, this next picture is from December of last year.  I wanted to do something fun for Sage's class for their Christmas party, so I decided to do these Santa Boxes.  I filled them with little toys you can buy at Wally World.  And Sage wrote each one of her classmates names across the white part of Santa's hat.  Can you you figure out all the punches I used?

Its your standard triangle box.  All you are doing is adding the punches to the box, no stamping required.  So the top of his hat is the Boho Blossoms punch, the brim of his hat is the word window punch (perfect for writing names).  His face is the 1" circle punch and his beard is the 1 3/4 " scallop punch.  His eyes were from a 1/4" circle punch and his nose was the 1/2" circle punch.  I used the Basic Black 5/8" grosgrain ribbon for his belt and just a soda tab for his buckle.  And HO HO HO Merry Christmas!!!
Really super easy to make and so so cute.  Now's the time to start thinking of these things.  Please visit me at my Stampin' Up! website: http://www.robynscherzer.stampinup.net/ if you would like to purchase any of the punches I used to make this.

See you tomorrow with some great card swaps from my Lunatic Fringe stamp club!

Congratulations!!!!

Sorry gals, got a little behind this week, with my every other day posting, I promise to post everyday this weekend.

Just wanted to shout out to Barb O, congratulations!  She won a $50 gift certificate from me through participating in my 50/50 Card.

What's a 50/50 card you say?  Purchase $50 (before tax and shipping and in one sitting) worth of Stampin' Up! merchandise from me and your name gets put on one of 50 squares.  Once I get all 50 squares filled in, my lovely daughter Sage draws a name.  Last night it was Barb O!  Congrats Barb, have fun shopping on me!  And thank you for your support!

The new 50/50 card starts up again right away.  So even if you place an order on my website, you'll be added.

Good Luck!

Check back later this weekend for more card and project ideas.

Good Morning!

I realize my goal of posting every other day was not met, as I ran out of any pictures I had saved on my computer.  But the good news is I found my camera dock!  Yeah!  So I was able to take a few pictures this morning to share.

This first card, I totally cased from Stampin' Up!  And we made it at my workshops last month.  Its the perfect little card to put on a gift.  Someone at one of my workshops told me she couldn't find the little 3x3 cards in the store for gifts anymore, so she was very excited to be able to make one. You could either use a white gel pen to write inside or just adhere a plain white piece of cardstock.

We used the new Artistic Etchings Stamp Set clear mount#120573 $14.95 along with More Mustard Cardstock and ink and of course Basic Black Cardstock and ink and the new Designer Paper called Newsprint #117166 $9.95.
But what I like most about this little card is the BLING.  I know you can't see it very well but on the tip of the crown is our new Jewels!  Basic Rhinestones #119246, you get 150 in a package for only $4.95.  They are self adhesive and also come in Pearls #119247.  They just add that perfect last detail.
I have a few of the kits left from making these cards if you are interested in purchasing just the paper supplies for $1 a card all other supplies can be purchased on my website http://www.robynscherzer.stampinup.net/.

The next card I received in the mail from my upline Tara Bazata.  I love the colors and image (which I believe she did in My Digital Studio).  Enjoy and have a great day!!!

Adorable!

I found this adorable altered notebook in my archives.  LOVE IT!  As you can see its has retired Designer Series Paper but think of the possibilities!  The pen has matching DSP inside the barrel.  I also covered the outside with sticky strip and rolled it in microbeads.  Way too cute!

You know I tend to forget past projects because I'm always looking for new projects..........but boy this is cute.  I think I'll make some for the gals I work with, this year for Christmas.

I used the spiral punch to make the holes, really easy.  Let me know if you have any questions!

Have a great day!!!
Oh, don't forget about my Name Frame Challenge in the post a few posts down!  I would love to see what you come up with.  And think about it this way, if you don't win, so what, you'll have one project complete!

Wanted! Hostess Club Members!!

Hi Gals,

I have a new club starting in September and we are looking for new members.
This is a great girls night out. And a great way for you to do some of that paper crafting you never seem to have enough time for! We make 3 projects and we rotate the hostess benefits. So everyone in the club is hostess one month and gets all the goodies associated with that. Its a wonderful way to purchase what you want on a budget. And to not have to worry about getting enough sales to qualify as a hostess. Its a premade workshop every month but of course guests are always welcome!

If you are interested please let me know by August 15.

Tart & Tangy

Here's my not very exciting post for the day.........still can't find my camera port to share new projects with you.

This card would make a great B-day card for both female and male.  I used the Tart & Tangy set along with retired Designer Series Paper but we have a TON of new paper, go check it out!  Colors are Pumkin Pie and Old Olive.

Name Frame CHALLENGE

This was one of the easiest projects I've ever done.  As you can see I did it a while ago, so a lot of the paper is retired.  But I just loved the way  it came out.  I went to the store and bought a frame, I think it cost $3.  I used our old Monogram stamps for the big S, but NOW I would use my groovy alphabet set from my Big Shot.  Stampin' Up! has lots to choose from so check them out!  And for the smaller letters I would use my Timeless Type Big Shot set.  And the colors.........man too many to choose from!  Have you seen the new color coach?  It would be awesome for a project like this.

I challenge you to make your own Name Frame and shoot me a picture by August 20, 2010.  I'll have Edwin and Sage do a little judging contest for the one they like best and the winner will get to pick anything out of my stash of free Stampin' Up! product.  Good Luck!!!

Projects to Share

Hi All!
I decided that I'm going to try my very best to post at least every other day.  Unfortunately, I can not find my camera port to import some new and fun projects onto my computer so I'm stuck showing you some old ones.  Which again, I'm sure you'll be able to invision for yourself what you could do to change this up.
These projects are from the Milwaukee Regional back in 2008.  Everything was cut with the Big Shot.  LOVE the Big Shot.  Didn't think I would when I first saw it but now I can't live without it!!  If you can't either give me a shout!  I'm happy to order one for you and throw in a $21.95 die to get you started.  Just let me know by August 14, 2010.  If you own the Big Shot and buy 2 dies at $21.95 or above I'll throw in an embossing folder of your choice.  Again just let me know by August 14, 2010.

My tip of the day here is....you know those white cardboardy things that come with your Designer Paper?
Save save save them!!  I have found that if I cut them to about the size of my die and attach the cardboard and Designer Paper BEFORE I run it through my Big Shot, life is alot easier.  Enjoy and have fun creating!

My First Blog Post!

Well, I know for those that know me, this is an amazing feat!  I have actually started a blog!  WOWZA!  I have so many projects to share, I don't know where to begin!  So I'm digging back into my archives and I'm going to share some oldies but goodies.

These were the projects I did last year for my Christmas in July class.  The tags and cards were done with a Simply Scrappin' kit that is now retired.  But I hope you can glean some inspiration from them.
The ornaments were done with reinkers and and Dazzling Diamond glitter.  So very easy.
All you do is choose the color reinker of your choice, put a few drops into a clear glass ornament ball, roll it around to get full coverage on the glass.  I than put it upside down inside a juice glass (with a napkin stuffed in the bottom) to drain any excess reinker.  Funnel in your glitter and give it a good shake (umm make sure your finger is over the hole!) and tah dah!  You have a beautiful sparkly ornament.  I tied it off with a coordinating ribbon.  These make awesome teacher and co-worker gifts!
If you have any questions just shoot me an email, I'm happy to help!
